The Simcoe-Grey Federal Liberal Riding Association (SGFLRA) has begun a
search process to select its Federal Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) candidate
for the riding of Simcoe-Grey in the 2015 election.

The nomination committee has the support of the SGFLRA membership, input
from the community and the assistance from the LPC. While a Liberal victory
is very important, we also hope that all the parties will behave in a manner
that results in an overall increase in the percentage of people who vote in

Our search process includes seeking referrals to potential candidates from
members, supporters and the local community. The committee is also looking
to political and civic leaders who may consider running. We have already had
early stage expressions of interest.

Justin Trudeau’s vision is to be the proud leader of a democratic community oriented political party.

The SGFLRA is fully behind Justin’s thinking. We are committed to demonstrating that politics can be civil and constructive. Our
candidate decision will be both inclusive and transparent. It will be made
by local members and not outside of the riding. We are working with the LPC
and its National and Ontario Campaign teams to finalize the date for the
vote for the candidate. We anticipate that this will occur in November 2014.

The SGFLRA wants to hear from all those interested in upholding Canadian
liberal values in a public and spirited way and specifically from anyone who
anticipates rising to the challenge of being the next Member of Parliament
for Simcoe-Grey.
