Collingwood’s Live & Original Music series returns with another great opportunity to hear two of L&O’s most popular alumni perform, as they release new music to the world at the Simcoe Street Theatre.
Courtney Dubois was a favourite of fans and judges earlier this year when she finished in the top three competitors at L&O ’17. Her indie-folk musical style is grounded in beautiful lyrics and supported by a voice that simply makes you happy to hear it. Courtney’s on-stage presence is incredibly honest, forthright and engaging for the audience. On December 2nd, Courtney will début her brand new EP song list, Geode, allowing you to see the world through her eyes for a little while.
Mike Charette was the overall winner of L&O ’16, knocking both the judges and the audience off their feet with his powerful, soulful, vocals. Hearing him might remind you of Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, or Marc Cohn, but Mike’s songs are definitely a product of his own creativity and heartfelt passion for music. Mike will be debuting his full-length album This is Me, which is already getting radio plays, and receiving critical acclaim. Be prepared to fall in love on December 2nd.
Live & Original is a music concept that seeks out the best singer-songwriters in Ontario (and beyond) and provides a platform for exposure, creative development and artistic growth. Entering into its fourth year of activity, L&O now has a solid base of more than 30 alumni performers who continue to hone their craft and stay connected to the L&O network.
