We demand that The Blue Mountains Public Library Board, and it’s CEO be held accountable to our community. The decision to “restructure” resulted in the termination of all nine library employees. We do not find this acceptable. Secondly, we ask that the children’s programming not be impacted by this restructuring. This program is vital to our community, our children, and their future.

Thornbury residents protest library staff losing jobs

About 250 people crowded onto the front lawn of the L.E. Shore Library, Saturday, in an effort to convince The Blue Mountains Public Library Board to put a halt to restructuring plans that have seen the facility’s staff given their notice.

 

One of the organizers, Patrick Delaney, said the outpouring of support for the staff is the result of what many in the community feel is a lack of transparency over the decision.
