A-D Racing is in Blue Mountain Village ~ Fred Thomas
A-D Racing is in Blue Mountain Village, Ontario getting ready for the Grey County Time Trial and the Grey County Road Race. The courses feature long climbs, fast downhills, temperatures in the 80s and the promise of keen Canadian competition. These events are UCI Granfondo World Series qualifier events and organized by UCI World Cycling Tour Champion Bruce Bird. Many thanks to the organizers and good luck to all!
Fred Thomas (A-D Racing) completed the 33km Grey County Time Trial with a time of 47:11 which was fast enough for second place in the UGFWS Men Category 45-49. David Gazsi (True North Medical Road Corp) won the category with a very fast 46:29, and David Frake (Otto Cycling Team) sealed third with a time of 48:26. Strangely enough, the placings were the same as 2015, although the times reflected a course that featured some tough climbs and downhills that would spin out a 55 x 11.
President and Founder of A-D Bikes, Fred Thomas said “It is great to be racing in Canada again and to see the A-D logo appearing on the same banner as the UCI Granfondo World Series, the Wheels of Bloor and Sportsnet logo. I feel like I have hit the Big Time!” A-D Bikes is very pleased to be a sponsor of the Grey County Time Trial and Grey County Road Race.
Many thanks to Bruce Bird for his organizational dedication and enthusiasm, to Steve Fleck for providing the announcing services and to Toronto Digital Imaging for printing up the beautiful Champagne A-D Bikes banners. Meanwhile, Hans Whitefield (A-D Racing) finished the course with a time of 50:32 which was fast enough for ninth place in the UGFWS Men 19-34 Category. Hans is the First A-D Racing rider in Canada! Congratulations Hans and thank you for making the drive!
