Community input at the Farmers' Market

We’re building the future of our Collingwood and Council is counting on your input to create the Community Based Strategic Plan.

The Community Based Strategic Plan (CBSP) is a guiding document, created in the community and used by Town Council to implement a vision for Collingwood that is fiscally responsible, and achievable through short- and long-term goals. What I love about my community card

Community input is a major component of the CBSP, and we’re looking for everyone to help shape the future of our community.

Council appointed a nine-member Community Advisory Committee to help provide input to the project team, but there are plenty of opportunities for all residents to get involved in the process.

We launched the community engagement process at the Farmers’ Market on Saturday May 23, and gathered input on what the community loved about Collingwood, what they loved but would like to see improved, and also what they’d like to see in their ideal future Collingwood.

A questionnaire is now available and takes just a few minutes to complete, access it online at www.collingwood.ca/CBSP or stop by any Town facility to pick up a hard copy.

If you’d like to learn more about the CBSP and the process of creating it, there’s a short video available that outlines what the plan is, how it will be used, and how to get involved.

All residents and stakeholders are invited to get involved! Community Visioning Workshops will be held on Wednesday, June 17 from7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Collingwood Public Library.

The Community Action Items Workshop will be held on Friday, July 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The CBSP will be developed with feedback throughout the summer, and a draft copy will be presented to Council in September. Once finalized and approved, the CBSP will feed into the 2016 budget process, which will begin in October.
