The 2016 Sound of Jazz Season starts off the year with a stellar line-up of live music across Toronto, featuring a variety of jazz performances right through until April with something for everyone.

“Showcasing our city’s incredible musicians and introducing international talent to audiences, we are constantly striving to ensure each concert is an experience with new themes throughout the season,” said CEO and President of JAZZ.FM91, Ross Porter.  “This season, we honour the works of legends, celebrate the best Jewish songwriters, and feature a new piano series focusing on Italy.”

 

The JAZZ.FM91 Sound of Jazz Concert Series

The 40th Annual JAZZ.FM91 Sound of Jazz Concert Series showcases exceptional talent and brings the very best of jazz to the Old Mill Toronto with incredible local talent honouring a legend, and bringing an intriguing mix of genres together from rare-Old World Sicilian material to New World mix with global rhythms and modern grooves.  All performances begin at 8PM in the Dining Room.

The Songwriters Series

Honouring songwriters from jazz-rock, from the stages and screens of Hollywood, to some of the most memorable and powerful anthems of social justice, JAZZ.FM91 celebrates some of the very best Jewish songwriters at Hugh’s Room, beginning at 8PM.  All performances are emceed and curated by JAZZ.FM91’s very own David Wall, Director of Community Outreach and Education.
